It’s a double update this week as the past few days have flown by and I’ve barely had chance to sit down! I’ve also been feeling really yucky with not one but two colds (how does that happen?!) and have basically just wanted to lie on the sofa eating biscuits and watching Real Housewives of Cheshire.
The past two weeks have seen the bump get bigger (belly is much closer to the steering wheel) and a girl in schuh told me I was ‘massive’ the other day – thanks for that. No.241 of things not to say to a pregnant lady.
Weight Gain: Oh lordy. I got a little bit stuck in a maternity jumper in H&M due to the boobs and I keep bumping into things. My spatial awareness is all off.
Exercise: Even just a waddle down the road now is getting tiring, exercise is off the cards. Does cleaning the skirting boards count? It takes bloody ages to get back up.
Fruit/vegetable of the week: We’re in lettuce territory according to Google.
Sleep: So new sleeping pattern. Sleep until about 2/3am, 1-2 hour wake-up, back to sleep until alarm/Harley wakes me up. Repeat. And maybe add in some leg cramps too.
Irrational moments: Does a mini meltdown in Mama’s and Papa’s over how unprepared I am count? It started off as a lovely bit of me time looking at all the pretty baby clothes in one of my favourite shops but as I mooched on over to the nursery area I realised how little we’ve actually got ready for baby. She has lovely leggings and some pretty blankets but eek so much to do. I had to go get some chicken nuggets just to calm down.
Favourite moment of the week: Baby’s movements are getting more and more pronounced now and my belly sometimes takes on a life of its own. I love it when I’m in meetings at work and she suddenly wakes up and decides to get active. Totally distracting but totally worth it.
Milestones: I’m well and truly into the third trimester now and things have all of a sudden got very real, hence the meltdown in M&P’s.
Nursery progress: Go, go, go! Plasterer booked and carpet chosen – we’re finally making progress.
Nobody warns you that your second pregnancy flies by so quickly. One minute you’re weeing on a stick and the next you’re realising you’ve got less than 3 months to go until you’re holding a newborn baby. Amazingly exciting but super anxiety inducing when you don’t have everything ready. Especially when you keep getting distracted by beautiful baby clothes.
