Is it just me? The 2018 edition. I previously wrote an ‘Is it just me?’ list in 2016 that you can read here, and a toddler version of the list for Good to Know. A lot has changed since then but I’m still asking ‘is it just me?’.
Is it just me that considers taking their make-up at the end of a day with a face wipe a skincare routine?
Although I am determined to change this. Youth is no longer on my side. I need all the moisturisers, exfoliators and miracle creams I can get.
Is it just me that gets excited by a solo trip to the supermarket?
Seriously a quick run around Sainsbury’s is like a trip to the spa nowadays. You’ll find me rocking my trolley back and forth whilst looking at the cleaning products.
Is it just me that’s experiencing phantom baby kicks post-baby?
I kind of remember them from last time. Doesn’t make them any less scary or confusing.
Is it just me that goes out with a bag full of snacks and bribes for solo trips with the two kids?
Obviously they’re all for Harley (Ada’s time will come I’m sure) but anything to avoid a tantrum and leave a place smiling.
Is it just me that sometimes completely forgets everything?
What I was going to fetch from a room or the thing I needed from the supermarket. Sometimes even my own name…
Is it just me that despite all of this, can tell you exactly how many poos their children have done today and at what time?
Nothing like retaining the important information.
And is it just me who expects their other half to be interested in this information?
I like to recite these riveting updates to Tom when he gets home from work. Usually as we’re eating dinner.
Is it just me that at the end of the day misses their children so much when they’re in bed?
Once they’re asleep I’ll look through my phone at the pictures I’ve taken throughout the day (and the ones that Harley has too – i.e. photos of the top half of his head and shots of my face taken from hugely unflattering angles).
