We’re going to Disney World.

To say I’m excited is the BIGGEST understatement. This August we’re going to Disney World and I can’t wait.

It’s been 10 years since we’ve last been and so much has changed. Gone are the days when you casually rocked up at opening time and then sprinted to Space Mountain to get a fastpass and the days when you decided on the way to Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) where you were going to go for dinner, now it’s all about the organisation and whilst I can imagine lots of people struggle with the idea of booking dinner reservations 180 days before and planning their holiday 60 days in advance with fastpasses, I LOVE it! This system totally embraces my inner Monica Bing nee Gellar.

Boardwalk at Disney World.
Our last trip to Disney 10 years ago. Just hanging out at the Boardwalk.

I’m not going to pretend by any means that I’m an expert and offer tips over the next few months – that’s what AJ from DFB and Tim Tracker are for – but I am going to share my excitment, which quite frankly is off the chart. I can’t even imagine how I’m going to keep this a secret from the kids during the next few months – we’ve decided not to tell them until the morning we go. ARRRGH. Sidenote, if anybody we know in the real world is reading this – PLEASE DON’T TELL THE KIDS!!

Spaceship Earth at Epcot.
SO EXCITED to see this place again!

The last time we went we were carefree twenty-somethings who ordered buckets of beer at dinner, hit the parks first thing and lazed by the pool in the afternoons. This is going to be a very different trip and I CAN’T WAIT!!

Do you have any tips to share? Post them in the comments, I’d love to hear them.
